The Southeast Biodynamic Conference
For 39 years, farmers, gardeners, and homesteaders who are interested in biodynamic methods have been gathering to learn and celebrate the harvest season together. This a family friendly, educational event with a strong spirit of celebration, cooperation, and inclusion. There are educational workshops throughout the weekend as well as delicious home cooked meals, live music, skill sharing, and plenty of time to sit around the fire and enjoy the farm.
The Schedule
On Friday afternoon, there will be farm tour and pasture walk. There is a meal on Friday evening followed by a keynote address to focus our thoughts for the weekend.
Saturday is a full day of workshops. Workshops will focus on biodynamics with both theoretical and hands-on explorations, as well as integrated permaculture principles and holistic health for humans and farm animals. As always, there will be preparation-making in the barn. Three delicious home cooked meals will be served. Following the Saturday evening banquet, there will be a talent show. All are encouraged to participate, and the children are often the stars of the show. After the talent show, we enjoy live music and dance.
Sunday is a more relaxed day with plenty of time to socialize. Rudolf Stiener’s Agriculture Course will be read aloud and discussed beginning at 11 in the morning. Breakfast and lunch will be served. We will bid fond farewells to those who need to leave.
